Eagan Wave Soccer Club

 As a parent, longtime coach and board member, Paul McGovern played an integral role in the formation and development of the Eagan Wave Soccer Club.  Each summer, EWSC honors his name with the Paul G. McGovern Sportsmanship Award, presented to one player from each EWSC team. These players are chosen because they exhibited good sportsmanship throughout the season by showing respect for other players, coaches, spectators, and officials.  These players demonstrated that they would work hard and maintain a positive attitude both in success and failure.  These players have been unselfish to their teammates, and shown dedication to the sport of soccer and the team. 

An award ceremony honoring all sportsmanship award recipients, OATHS winners, State Cup winners, district champions and state tournament champions has been planned to coincide with EAA Night at the Boys’ and Girls’ Eagan High School Varsity Soccer games on Saturday, September 17, 2011.  Eagan will be playing Shakopee.  The ceremony will take place between the Boys’ and Girls’ varsity games (est. 6:30pm – 7:00pm).

All soccer players in EWSC/EAA uniforms will be admitted for free that night.  The Boy’s varsity game starts at 5:00 pm and the Girl’s varsity starts at 7:00 pm.  Players and parents are invited to come and cheer on both teams. 

9/17/11   Eagan WAVE / EAA Night at the Boy's and Girl's High School Varsity Soccer games.  Games start at 5pm, Awards at 6:30pm.
