I bring a vast amount of coaching and playing experience along with positive energy and passion for the game. With this passion and energy I hope to help elevate and accelerate the development of youth soccer within the community of Eagan, Minnesota. I have a sincere desire to positively impact every player and hope to be an excellent role model to help Eagan's youth gain a true understanding of sportsmanship in competitive sports. I have a tremendous amount of passion for the game of soccer and have the ability to infuse this passion into players, coaches, and parents within the Eagan community. I currently hold an USSF National "B" coaching license and a National Y license. I have coached with the Minnesota ODP program for the last 5 years. I am also a member of the Development Committee within MYSA. As a High School Senior,
Ms. Carey helped the Anoka Tornadoes win the 1990 Minnesota prep soccer championship. Ms. Carey then played college soccer and basketball at St. Benedict before graduating in 1994. She was a three-time All-MIAC selection in both sports and participated the NCAA Division III Final Four in each sport. Ms. Carey started coaching as an assistant college coach at St. Benedict in 1994 and 1995. In 2005 she completed her seventh year as head coach for the University of St. Thomas women’s soccer team. Over the past seven years Colleen was twice named MIAC Coach of the Year (2000 and 2001), and her overall record is 71-34-11 (47-12-5 vs. MIAC foes). In 2001 her St. Thomas team reached the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs, and the 2002 team made it all the way to the NCAA quarterfinals before a shootout loss to eventual champion Ohio Wesleyan. In addition to these accomplishments, Colleen was also among five MIAC women's coaches and 44 women's coaches nationally who were selected to attend an elite summer coaching academy sponsored by the NCAA.
